Former METAL CHURCH Singer Involved In Three-Car Pile-Up
January 13, 2003Former METAL CHURCH and current REVEREND frontman David Wayne was involved in a three-car pile-up in Tacoma, Washington over the weekend and had to be rushed to a local hospital to have his injuries treated.
Wayne, who completed a short European tour with REVEREND in December, was reportedly traveling west on 56th and I5 at about 1:30 p.m. in his late model Chevrolet Caprice Classic when he was forced to stop quickly. As a result, Wayne was rear-ended by a car that was following much too closely. This triggered a three-car pile-up in which Wayne suffered trauma in his neck and back and had to be rushed to a local hospital.
Wayne was treated and released but under doctor's orders will need therapy and medication to meet his rehabilitation requirements. All others involved in this accident were treated and released.
David Wayne was unavailable for comment. However, REVEREND/BYFIST guitarist Davey Lee said he was in touch with Wayne and that the singer was shaken up but progressing nicely and in good spirits.
