Former METAL FORCES Owner/Editor BERNARD DOE Joins ROCKDETECTOR

August 27, 2004

Rockdetector, the self-proclaimed "world's biggest rock & metal web site," has appointed Bernard Doe as new editor.

Bernard Doe has made a huge impression on the international rock scene as owner of the groundbreaking U.K. magazine Metal Forces as well as high-profile offshoots such as Thrash n' Burn and Xtreme Noise magazines and the Metal XS video range. Running for over a decade, Metal Forces, through Bernard's efforts, championed the early careers of artists such as METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, SEPULTURA, CELTIC FROST and many others. Renowned for its in depth, intuitive articles and devotion to promoting quality metal of all genres, back issues of Metal Forces now command high prices on eBay.

In September, Rockdetector will be hosting interviews with some of the biggest names in rock. Expect the same degree of Metal Forces-style substance allied with Rockdetector's reputation for thoroughness and commanding detail.

Rockdetector executive editor Garry Sharpe-Young states: "Having Bernard onboard really is an honour. This is the guy that first gave me a major break and, for me and many bands I know, was responsible for the very best metal magazine we've seen to date. Both of our roots lay in the legendary Bay Area fanzine Metal Mania, so it's like coming full circle. Metal Forces really led the way, with a lot of today's major names not only getting their first exposure on its pages but also benefiting hugely from Bernard's tireless support for them."

Bernard describes Rockdetector as "A superb innovation, absolutely essential. Second to none for research and analysis, it is the most comprehensive listings of rock and metal artistes on the net."

Expect Bernard to be hooking up with some old friends for some time honoured Metal Forces-style interrogation very soon. Not only will Rockdetector be conducting brand new interviews but Rockdetector will soon start to include on its pages all those great Metal Forces interviews from years gone by.

"The timing of this is great for us," says Garry. "We launch full artist affiliation and with the global gig guide, now at over 10,000 international concerts, Rockdetector has proven a huge success."
