Former MORBID ANGEL Bassist/Vocalist Speaks Out

June 10, 2002

Former MORBID ANGEL touring bassist/vocalist Jared Anderson has spoken out for the first time about his decision to discontinue his association with the aforementioned group and focus all his attention on HATE ETERNAL and INTERNECINE. In a brief e-mail exchange with BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Anderson acknowledged that "we had talked about me doing the next [MORBID ANGEL] record, yes. I was never a member of MORBID though. I just decided that pursuing HATE ETERNAL and INTERNECINE would be the best path for me to follow. There are no hard feelings of any kind between me and the band though, I would like to make that very clear, I have the utmost respect for all of them."

In light of the group's extensive legacy, Jared found it "very difficult and stressful" to step into the role of MORBID ANGEL's bassist/vocalist on such short notice (following Steve Tucker's departure from the group),but was ultimately "definitely satisfied with my performance, although more time to practice and prepare would have made it much better," Anderson said.

Currently preparing for the release of the second HATE ETERNAL full-length CD, King Of All Kings, Anderson has no plans for other projects at this time. "I plan to write another INTERNECINE record in the near future, but now it's time to get ready for all of the HATE ETERNAL tours coming up this year," Jared stated.

King Of All Kings is due out in September through Earache Records.
