From DANGEROUS TOYS To Country Music
June 13, 2004Dru Willis of the Abilene Reporter-News reports that fans of country singer Kevin Fowler would hardly recognize photos of him taken 15 years ago.
That's when the singer of songs like "Beer, Bait and Ammo" and "100% Texan" wore long hair and played in the heavy metal band DANGEROUS TOYS.
Now, Fowler hangs around with country singer Clint Black, and sings the kind of music that would make his childhood heroes Willie, Waylon and Merle proud.
In the late 1980s DANGEROUS TOYS sold a combined one million records of their three albums.
After Columbia Records decided to release the band, members went back to working hourly jobs and Fowler took a year and a half off to write songs. Read more.
