GEOFF TATE Band Members Lose Everything In Seattle House Fire

GEOFF TATE members Jeff Carrell (guitar) and Chris Fox (bass),along with Chris' brother Matt, reportedly lost all of their possessions in a house fire in Seattle early Saturday morning (Feb. 8). According to a report posted on the King 5 News web site, "crews responded to a call around 6 a.m. Saturday of a fire at a two-story apartment building on 56th Street, near University Way.

"Fire spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick says when crews arrived, flames were coming from the second story. Home video of the blaze taken by witness showed a tenant attempting to open a door to a unit, then a flash of fire that nearly knocked him down and forced him to flee.

"Home video shows flames coming out of the second story window.

"Because the building was older, about 80 years old, there was nothing to stop the flames from spreading, said Fitzpatrick. The 10-12 tenants who lived there must now find new homes.

"About 60 firefighters had the blaze under control in about an hour. Nobody was injured.

"Investigators are still looking into what may have caused the fire."
