GEORGE LYNCH Celebrating 30th Anniversary In Rock

October 15, 2008

Beginning on January 1, 2009, heavy metal guitar icon George Lynch will begin a victory lap that few artists can boast — a celebration of a career spanning 30 years. In commemoration, twelve months of secret events and limited edition releases promise to be as unorthodox as the axeman's career. The elements to be released will be leaked to visitors of Lynch's official website at www.georgelynch.com and www.legacyoften.com via clues prior to each scheduled announcement.

Over the last 30 years (playing with DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB and solo) George Lynch has sold millions of records around the world, toured every corner of the planet, and set the benchmark for the design and artwork behind his signature guitars, amplifiers and music accessories. He is also one of the only marquee players to establish a unique commitment to his fan base's education of the guitar. In 2005, Lynch created a Guitar Dojo, which is now in its third year at www.georgelynch.com.

It is that same commitment to his following that attracted notorious design and creativity house SceneFour to propose the anniversary concept to Lynch earlier this year.

"As anyone in rock can tell you, George Lynch is a player's player and someone that should be honored in the most fitting of ways. It occurred to us that this anniversary needed to be done memorably not only for Lynch's amazing fan base, but also for Lynch himself," SceneFour creative director Cory Danziger states.

Located in Los Angeles, SceneFour is no stranger to the music industry having worked on projects for some of rock's most ambitious figures (SIGUR ROS, MTV, NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON, SUNZ OF MANN, PORNO FOR PYROS and BECK). As for Lynch, SceneFour and the guitar great have been working together on a wide spectrum of projects over the years. Together, they created the Guitar Dojo, designed album covers, and even crafted a series of fine-art guitar cases.

Now the duo of Lynch and SceneFour kick into what S4 art director Ravi Dosaj boasts will be "the ultimate piece of the Lynch puzzle, designed to meet the demands of sophisticated guitar fans and George believers."
