GLENN HUGHES Thanks Fans For Sold-Out Shows In Los Angeles, New York City

Legendary bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (ex-DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, TRAPEZE) has issued a statement thanking his U.S. fans following his two sold-out shows in Los Angeles and New York City this past weekend.

"I want to thank all the fans and media who came out to see my sold out shows in L.A. and NYC. I was overwhelmed with the reception I received; it simply brought me to my knees.

"I have been touring the world for the last 10 years as a solo artist and was longing to play in the country that I am proud to call home. These shows will set the blueprint for more shows across the USA. I genuinely was taken by the surprise of the intensity and the reaction of everyone who attended.

"I wanna thank my brother and partner, Chad Smith, and my band, Jeff Kollman, Ed Roth, and Steve Stephens. The shows were soulful, funked up and rocked out GH style, and I loved that it was 'in-the-moment' vocal event.

"I love you my American brothers and sisters, thank you for welcoming me home. See you very soon in a city near you."

Hughes recently made available a video clip of the song "Monkey Man" from his latest album, "Music For The Divine", featuring co-vocals by Jimmy Barnes. It contains lots of vision that will soon be available in full on Glenn's forthcoming DVD featuring his Australian acoustic "Live at the Basement" concert and the documentary of the making of "Music For The Divine", with snippets from the summer 2006 gig in Rome, Italy that will also be featured. A remix of Hughes's version of "Monkey Man" is included on the Australian version of his latest solo album, "Music for the Divine". Also featured is a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Misty Mountain Hop", featuring a guest appearance by ALICE IN CHANS guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
