GODHEAD Frontman Asks Label To Lower CD Price
September 2, 2003GODHEAD frontman Jason Miller has reportedly asked the band's label, Reality Entertainment, to lower the price of the new GODHEAD CD, "Evolver", to $9.99. "I told Warren (Croyle, CEO Reality Entertainment) that I'd be willing to lower our take if it would help him keep the prices down. I thought maybe then the label and the band could split the difference as far as any loss goes," Miller said in an official press release announcing the move. The label agreed to a compromise amount and "Evolver" is now selling for no more than $14.99 retail, and some chains are selling it for only $12.99. "That's a price kids can afford more easily," Jason explained, "and I'll bet that when all is said and done, it will ultimately translate into more sales. I'm hoping other bands and labels will follow suit."
"Evolver", which was released on July 15, has been a consistent seller for Reality. The band started touring August 20 in Houston, and will be playing some headline dates as well as appearing with SALIVA through September. Following that, they will head to Europe (where "Evolver" is currently # 2 on the Alternative Trend Charts) to tour with PARADISE LOST.
