Guitarist BERND AUFERMANN Offers Updates On RUNNING WILD, ANGEL DUST
June 10, 2005RUNNNG WILD/ANGEL DUST guitarist Bernd Aufermann has posted the following message on his official web site:
"First of all I'd like to say a word about my private life although I'm not a guy who likes to have his privacy laid out in public but I gotta tell some things to clear my situation regarding future projects.
"As [previously reported], after 11 months of painful suffering my father died caused by a brain tumor called Glioblastoma. This is by far the most malingent aggressive brain tumor known. There is absolutely no cure and the average life expectancy is (without chemo treatment about 6 months) with chemo treatment about a year. Although I had the probably best brain surgeon in Europe taking care of my dad, we knew that this was a one way street and there would be no way out! For 11 months I kept my activities low and centered my life around my fathers disease just to cherish every moment. So finally, yesterday was dad's funeral.
"From this day on I'd like to try to come back into my life. Not only for my family but for my own sanity.
"I'd like to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! for your condolences for warm emails for offering help and knowledge. You know who you are! I'D like to THANK all those ANGEL DUST and especially the RUNNING WILD fans for their support and nice words! I appreciate that and I'll do my best to pay it back one day!
"If anybody is in the same situation with deadly illness of relatives don't hesitate to contact me — maybe I can share some experience.
"OK, and now back to business:
"ANGEL DUST: It's getting better every day! We wrote about 15 songs and are constantly fooling around with arrangements and sounds. We'll hit the studio soon, and preparing to record material that is more like the 'Enlighten The Darness' material. I'm VERY satisfied with the way the guitar will approach in the music and the material is, in my opinion, the best we'd ever written. We'll have some breaking news regarding the future line up and I bet, you'll be excited! More to come.....
"RUNNING WILD: I got tons of mails asking about my future with RUNNING WILD. Yesterday I heard for the first time that there could be a tour. That would be so great for the fans since they deserve it and Rolf, Matthias and Peter are so talented musicians that every show will be a ball!
"I lost contact to the RUNNING WILD camp since activities were pretty low and my private issues, so I really don't know the status of schedules and current line-ups. All I can say is that it was always fun to play with the guys and if there would be a call for me to join in, I'd do my very best and skip a few things to make it possible. And if I won't be a part of the band again I'd wish Rolf and the crew all my very best and I'll be thankfull that I was part of the RW family! I'm sure that Rolf would find an even better guitarist to please the audience.
"Anyway, to the RUNNING WILD fans: Thanks for your support and loyalty! Stay Wild! I'll be riding the storm! See you somehow somewhere!
"Sessions & gear news: There will be a few more sessions to do and my homepage will get a huge facelift where I'll show some more pics and will deliver soundfiles regarding my new gear! I'll have a new complete guitar rig, I dumped my Bradshaw system and got in touch with probably the most skillful switching gguru and system designer known to mankind. Danish Steen Skydstrup! Steen delivered gear and supports artists like U2, The Edge's new tour rig is Skrydstrup all the way — John Petrucci and Steve Stevens. I'm really proud to stand in line with those famous guitar players. Check www.skydstrup.com. Also I use the New ENGL E 670with EL 34s as my main amp these days.
"Brazillian guitar manufacturer Tagima guitars have built me a custom Bernd Aufermann guitar. WOW...I did not know that, since I did not know the company but I'm looking forward to get one and I'm honoured that acompany takes care of me in that way..."
