GUNS N' ROSES: 'Chinese Democracy' Sales In Australia Fail To Impress
November 30, 2008According to Undercover News, GUNS N' ROSES' "Chinese Democracy" managed to sell "only" 20,790 copies in Australia in its first full week of release — a number that wasn't enough to topple stalwarts PINK and KINGS OF LEON. Even if you include "Chinese Democracy"'s first-day sales of 3,454 (sold before the album's official release date),the tally for GN'R's latest effort is less than last week's sales for PINK's "Funhouse" (27,184) and KINGS OF LEON's "Only By The Night" (24,579).
"Chinese Democracy" first-week chart positions so far (Note: The album wasn't available a full week in many of these territories when the charts were compiled):
Brazil: #1
Finland: #1
New Zealand: #2
UK: #2
Australia: #3
Ireland: #3
Japan: #3
Norway: #3
Hungary: #4
Netherlands: #4
Sweden: #4
Denmark: #7
Spain: #12
