January 18, 2005As widely expected, H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo and THE RASMUS singer Lauri Ylönen joined APOCALYPTICA for the world-premiere live rendition of their single "Bittersweet" at a benefit concert for the victims of the Asian earthquake/tsunami disaster at Helsinki's 12,000-seater Hartwall Arena on Monday (Jan. 17). The concert featured 30-minute live performances by H.I.M., THE RASMUS, APOCALYPTICA, NEGATIVE and THE 69 EYES. Check out pictures of Ville and Lauri performing with APOCALYPTICA: Photo#1, Photo#2.
Described as "a dark ballad," "Bittersweet" was written jointly by APOCALYPTICA, Lauri and Ville and is accompanied by an equally impressive video shot in the band's hometown of Helsinki with renowned Finnish director Antti Jokinen (NIGHTWISH, CELINE DION, SHANIA TWAIN). The single debuted at position No. 3 on the Finnish chart upon its release last November.
"Bittersweet" is the first single off APOCALYPTICA's forthcoming self-titled album, due on January 24 via Universal.
