HATEBREED Members Discuss Hardcore Scene, Life On The Road; Video Available
June 26, 2008HardTimes.ca spent some time with HATEBREED this past Saturday (June 21) at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal, Canada. First they interviewed bassist Chris Beattie and Sean Martin, discussing a range of topics, including KISS parties with TYPE O NEGATIVE on tour, the early Connecticut hardcore scene which Martin was a large factor in, including his previous bands 100 DEMONS, DEATH THREAT, and HIGHER FORCE, and life for HATEBREED on the road in general. They then caught up with guitarist Frank "3 Gun" Novinec and discussed, among other topics, the benefits and drawbacks of touring for nine months out of the year, his pivotal role in the Cleveland hardcore movement of the '90s, notably his founding role in legendary bands RINGWORM and INTEGRITY, his current friendship with former band TERROR, being a father, and more. Lastly, while TYPE O NEGATIVE performed in the background, Beattie and Novinec went fishing on the local grounds, the footage of which is also available below.
HATEBREED enlisted Vinnie Paul Abbott (HELLYEAH, ex-PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) to produce, document and record the band's May 27, 2008 concert in Dallas, Texas at the Palladium Ballroom. The resultant recording will be released as HATEBREED's live album, due before the end of the year.
HATEBREED recently signed a "multi-tiered, worldwide deal with KOCH Records.
