HEADHUNTER D.C. Signs North American Deal With IBEX MOON RECORDS
January 2, 2010Brazilian death metallers HEADHUNTER D.C. have inked a deal with Ibex Moon Records for the North American release of the band's fourth full-length album, "God's Spreading Cancer..." Due on January 19, the North American version of the CD will contain four bonus tracks — three live cuts recorded in December 2008 as well as the NECROVORE cover "Slaughtered Remains".
Commented vocalist Sérgio "Baloff" Borges says: "I met John McEntee [Ibex Moon owner and INCANTATION mainman] when I went to the show of mighty INCANTATION in Recife, in 2001. After that we were honored to share the stage with them in Fortaleza in 2003, and since then we kept the contact and developed a true death metallic alliance.
"We are glad and proud for having 'God's Spreading Cancer...' released upon the North American death metallic masses through his mighty Ibex Moon Records, one of the greatest supporting labels for death metal musick in the world. This release will surely gave us even more strength to give continuity to our long saga, spreading the death cult word across the lands...
HEADHUNTER D.C. is currently in the final stages of writing songs for its next album, which is scheduled to be recorded in the first quarter of 2010. The band is also compiling a double CD to celebrate the group's 20-year anniversary, featuring only rare material. Also planned is a reissue of HEADHUNTER D.C.'s second album, "Punishment At Dawn" (1993),via Cogumelo Records, as well as the band's appearance on a tribute album to MORTEM from Peru, to which HEADHUNTER D.C. will contribute a cover of "Summoned to Hell".
