HEARSE Signs With VIC RECORDS
July 22, 2008HEARSE, the Swedish "death 'n' roll" band featuring former ARCH ENEMY singer Johan Liiva and ex-FURBOWL drummer Max Thornell, has inked a deal with Vic Records.
Commented Max: "It feels just great! Vic is a cool label and there are a lot of cool bands on the label. Getting mails from the label boss saying things like 'I am having a total HEARSE trip these days! Really! Only listening to your albums... These bonus tracks on the Cambodia album are sooooooooo damn good!!!!!' does not really make it feel like a bad decision either!"
HEARSE is currently working on its fifth album, tentatively due in early 2009. According to Max, "The drums were re-recorded in The Black Chapel in March (first recording got fucked up) and guitars and bass have been recorded during the spring and summer. This time the band has also used the now legendary Swedish studio Studio Gubbsjuk for some guitar recordings. The Black Chapel has been booked again and the final recordings (vocals and guitars) are to take place in early September."
HEARSE's fourth album, "In These Veins", was released in North America on September 18, 2007 via Candlelight Records. The follow-up to 2005's "The Last Ordeal" was recorded and mixed by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH).
Formed by longtime friends Thornell and Liiva, HEARSE recorded a demo before signing with Hammerheart Records. The band released a limited-edition 7-inch single, entitled "Torch", prior to issuing their debut album, "Dominion Reptillian", in 2003. A follow-up effort, "Armageddon Mon Amour", came out in 2004. The group's third CD, "The Last Ordeal", was released in August 2005 through Holland's Karmageddon Media.
