HEATHEN Sign Distribution Deal With IDN
January 7, 2005Reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers HEATHEN have inked a North American distribution deal with the New York-based based Innovative Distribution Network (IDN).
The band, who are currently unsigned, released their latest CD, "Recovered", independently this past spring. The effort featured covers of songs from QUEEN, THIN LIZZY, TYGERS OF PAN TANG and SWEET SAVAGE, as well as an original track, "In Memory of…" (written and dedicated to former band member Randy Laird and lead vocalist David White's brother Jeffrey).
"We've sold over 6,000 copies without any distribution, just from our web site alone," the band said in a statement. "So at this point we've done as much as we can on our own and it was time to hand it over to someone who can get it in all of the stores across the North America. This way it would make it easier for people to get the CD. We received a lot of emails asking us where they can buy the new CD without ordering it online. Now they should be able to find it at their local record store."
As previously reported, HEATHEN have been confirmed for the Headbangers Open Air 2005 festival, set to take place July 9-10 in Germany. Also scheduled to perform at the festival are TYRANT'S REIGN, WEAPON, RAVENSTHORN, ALL SOULS' DAY, Z-IRON, INNER WISH, ATTACKER, WARRANT (not the Los Angeles hard rock combo),GASKIN, MYSTERY BLUE, NECRODEATH, RIVAL, GUN BARREL, UNDECROFT and MIRROR OF DECEPTION. HEATHEN have also been confirmed for the Thrash Till Death festival, set to take place July 15-16, 2005 in Wendessen, Germany.
