HELSTAR will celebrate its 30th anniversary by performing a very special show on Saturday, March 24 at Warehouse Live in Houston, Texas. According to the band, "The entire show will be audio- and video-recorded and later released as the first official live HELSTAR album and DVD." Also scheduled to appear are ROTTING CORPSE, METALLOYD, OWL WITCH, VENOMOUS MAXIMUS, CARRY THE STORM, SANCTUS BELLUM, LEGION, ETHREAL, KNOCTURNAL MADNESS, EPIC and METAVENGE. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the music will start promptly at 5:30 on the two stages at Warehouse Live. Monster Energy, Dunlop and Jetspeed Entertainment will sponsor the festival, with products and giveaways in addition to some very unique surprises from HELSTAR to be given away during the festival.
HELSTAR released its latest album, "Glory Of Chaos", in November 2010 via Germany's AFM Records.
Formed in Houston in the early '80s, HELSTAR cut its teeth playing backyard parties and small club gigs. It soon became apparent that HELSTAR had much more to offer then its contemporaries. Combat Records snapped up the band and released HELSTAR's debut, "Burning Star", in 1984. Next came "Remnants of War", followed by HELSTAR's breakthrough album, "A Distant Thunder", in 1988. The success of "A Distant Thunder" ultimately set up HELSTAR's most critically acclaimed album, 1989's "Nosferatu".
