HOLOCAUST Make Peace With SANCTUARY RECORDS

Long-running New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) pioneers HOLOCAUST — perhaps best known for penning the track "The Small Hours", which was later covered by METALLICA on their "The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisited" EP have received a "lengthy and very considerate email from the senior management at Sanctuary Records" regarding the band's criticism of the job the label did on the HOLOCAUST's recently-issued double-CD compilation, "Smokin' Valves: The Anthology". As previously reported, the group had slammed Sanctuary over the substandard quality of the final product, calling it "not just shoddy, but insulting as well."

The following is HOLOCAUST's latest message as it appears on the band's official web site, www.holocaustmetal.com:

"We are extremely pleased to announce that we received a lengthy and very considerate email from the senior management at Sanctuary Records this morning. According to them, the back catalogue will in fact receive a proper reissue later this year the new 'Smokin' Valves' compilation is just the beginning. In addition, Sanctuary agrees that some of the images in the CD booklet could have been better and that it was their error to have not contacted the band for assistance and input. In that spirit, they have stated that they will solicit the band's approval for all sleeve notes and artwork for all of the forthcoming reissues. The email ended with a statement of commitment to working with their bands and taking all feedback very seriously, and the senior label manager will be calling to speak with [drummer Ron Levine] personally.

"Again, we are very happy that the folks at Sanctuary have responded so promptly and in such an attentive manner. Cheers!"
