HORSE THE BAND Signs With ROADRUNNER For Australia, New Zealand And Japan
May 14, 2009Southern California's metaphysical DIY badasses HORSE THE BAND have signed to Roadrunner Records for Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This oft-misunderstood band of horses is currently in the studio recording their fourth full-length, titled "Desperate Living", with producer Noah Shain at White Buffalo Studios in Los Angeles. An August release is expected.
"We've been stalking Roadrunner for years and we are very happy to finally have a real partner in Australia and Japan," states guitarist David Isen.
The band also brought Jamie Stewart of XIU XIU into the studio with them. "HORSE THE BAND has asked me to try to help them make a dying robot, an exploding keyboard, a dream laugh and a melted, drastic flute of redemption," said Stewart. "Lucky for you and for me, they have the wit and creativity to turn these things into music."
HORSE THE BAND has been developing its experimental sound through near-constant touring — even booking its own 45-country, three-month world tour.
HORSE THE BAND's debut album, "R. Borlax", was released in 2003 and was followed by "The Mechanical Hand" in 2005 and "A Natural Death" in 2007.
HORSE THE BAND is:
Nathan Winneke (vocals)
David Isen (guitar)
Erik Engstrom (keyboards)
Daniel Pouliot (drums)
