IN BATTLE Announce New Bassist

January 21, 2004

John Frölén, guitarist for the Sundsvall, Sweden-based death metallers IN BATTLE, has taken over the bass duties in the band. Session guitarist for the group going forward will be Daniel Dlimi (AEON, SOULDRAINER, STUM).

As previously reported, IN BATTLE will issue their new album, "Welcome To The Battlefield", on August 4 through Cold/Metal Blade Records.

The CD will be mixed at Mana studio in Florida with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL) and will contain 10 songs (plus one bonus track on the Japanese release).

IN BATTLE had previously released two albums (1997's "In Battle" and 1998's "The Rage Of The Northmen") through Austria's Napalm Records. A recently recorded four-song promotional demo, "Soul Metamorphosis", has also been made available. Download two cuts from the promo CD: "King God" (mp3),"Pioneers of a Dead Future" (mp3).

IN BATTLE are booked to play the Kaltenbach Open Air festival in Austria in July. Fellow Sundsvall band SETHERIAL are also scheduled to perform at the event. More information will be made available soon.
