INDIANAPOLIS METAL FEST II: Today's Show Cancelled
September 27, 2008Rob Mason of Monolith Entertainment Group, the organizers behind the Indianapolis Metal Fest II — scheduled to be held September 26-27, 2008 at the Marquee Convention and Event Center in Indianapolis, Indiana — has released the following statement:
"Due to issues entirely beyond our control, the Saturday show [September 27] at 5100 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis has been cancelled. More details will be available on our website soon.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Make-up dates are being considered, and we are certain to file legal action against the parties responsible for this situation.
"Thanks to all who came out to the show on Friday night — it was a GREAT crowd and the bands were amazing. Though we were unable to give you the show we wanted to give you due to problems and code violations within the venue, I think we all pulled together as best we could and made the Friday night show one hell of a good show.
"Special thanks to Morgan and Mercedes Lander from KITTIE for being so exceptionally cool. Extra special thanks to Dino Cazares [of DIVINE HERESY] for invaluable advice and support during the show.
"A major announcement and statement will be made concerning this issue in a day or so."
The festival, dubbed "the Midwest's fastest-growing celebration of all things metal," was originally scheduled to be held at the Madame C.J. Walker Theatre but the organizers moved the event to the new venue to accommodate the comfort of additional fans to move inside in case of inclement weather.
The Indianapolis Metal Fest II was scheduled to feature acts from all over the world and from all genres of metal, including DEW-SCENTED, KITTIE, DIVINE HERESY, INTO ETERNITY, ARSIS, MUSTASCH, EKOTREN, DEMIRICOUS, SHADOWSIDE, THE ABSENCE, WOE OF TYRANTS, PSYOPUS, WYKKED WYTCH, OBSZON GESCHOPF, THREAT SIGNAL, GREEN JELLY, INTO ETERNITY, DAYLIGHT DIES, BLEED THE SKY, DESTROPHY, SKELETONWITCH, THE DESTRO, GATES OF SLUMBER, LEVEL-C and more.
