IOMMI/ANSELMO Project Postponed?

December 17, 2002

Unconfirmed reports have surfaced that the proposed pairing between BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi and PANTERA/DOWN frontman Phil Anselmo on Iommi's next solo CD has either been indefinitely postponed or cancelled. No further information is available at this time.

In related news, SUPERJOINT RITUAL — which also features Anselmo on vocals — plan to begin recording a second album in February 2003 for a tentative late summer release through Sanctuary Records. A DOWN DVD is also said to be in the works, with provisional plans for the group to embark on a short European tour in late spring. There has been no word yet on when — or if — Anselmo will regroup with his PANTERA bandmates to commence work on the band's next studio CD. PANTERA's last album, the gold-certified "Reinventing the Steel", was issued in March 2000.
