IRON MAIDEN Guitarist ADRIAN SMITH: 'I Used To Take Worms On Tour'
August 25, 2009According to NME.com, IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith has revealed that he used to take worms and maggots on tour with him so he could keep up his angling hobby on the road.
Smith, who holds the honor of catching the biggest chub this season (it clocked in at seven pounds and 14 ounces),made the revelation in an interview published in the new issue of the U.K. fishing weekly magazine Angler's Mail — out today (August 25).
"I get to fish a lot of wild and wonderful places on tour," he explained. "We used to keep worms in containers under the tour bus and in summer they would get a bit savory. I also remember a maggot scare in a very plush hotel in Amsterdam when I was fishing in the canal there. They're certainly not on the room service menu."
