It's Official: BLACK SABBATH And SYSTEM OF A DOWN To Headline U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival

February 8, 2005

Metal Hammer is reporting that BLACK SABBATH, SYSTEM OF DOWN and FEEDER have been unveiled as the headliners of this year's three-day Download festival.

Metal Hammer have just got back from the official press conference where festival promoters Clear Channel Entertainment have confirmed Internet rumors suggesting that that BLACK SABBATH are headlining one of the days at this year's Download festival. They have also announced that the festival will now be over three days with Friday's bands having a distinctly less-heavy flavor to what you'd usually expect from Download.

While the headliners for the second stages are still to be confirmed, here's a rundown of a couple of other bands who are set to play:

Friday, June 10:

FEEDER
GARBAGE
BILLY IDOL

Saturday, June 11:

BLACK SABBATH
VELVET REVOLVER
H.I.M.

Sunday, June 12:

SYSTEM OF A DOWN
SLIPKNOT
SLAYER

The 2005 Download Festival will once again take place at Donington Park, Derbyshire, England, which can hold 60,000 concertgoers. Last year's event featured METALLICA, SLIPKNOT and SLAYER.
