JANE'S ADDICTION Replace OZZY At London Fundraiser
October 15, 2003JANE'S ADDICTION have replaced OZZY OSBOURNE at tonight's (October 15) prestigious charity performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, according to icWales.
The group will model designer Julien Macdonald's outfits in place of Osbourne, who is being treated for a nervous tremor at Tufts University in Boston, at tonight's Fashion Rocks event in aid of The Prince's Trust.
JANE'S ADDICTION will appear on stage in a night which fuses the concepts of rock performance and fashion show, and is hosted by Elizabeth Hurley and comedian Denis Leary.
Leading fashion houses will showcase stunning catwalk collections each accompanied by live music from an internationally renowned artist, dressed by their chosen designer.
Macdonald, who is the head designer of fashion house Givenchy, is said to be thrilled with clinching JANE'S ADDICTION as his models. He is used to celebrity clothes horses, including the likes of Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue and Cameron Diaz.
"They are a really sexy rock group," said a spokeswoman for him. "Kind of like RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS.
"After we heard about Ozzy on Friday, we made contact. They had been on tour for about six months — they are coming from Spain for the event — and a lot of other people, such as Stella McCartney, were after them. Their tour clashed but then on Friday, we discovered their dates had changed so we jumped at the chance."
The Fashion Rocks event will be broadcast in the U.K. this Saturday on Channel 4 at 10:00 p.m.
