JANE'S ADDICTION's NAVARRO: It Will Truly Be An Honor To Share The Stage With NIN Again
March 10, 2009Guitarist Dave Navarro of the reunited original lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION has issued the following update:
"We have just been rehearsing and preparing for the NINE INCH NAILS/JANE'S ADDICTION tour. I couldn't be more enthusiastic about this tour as NIN has been one of my favorite all time bands since 1991 when I was given the chance to watch them every night for about a month. They have consistently released great, uncompromising music and have always put on incredible live performances. It will truly be an honor to share the stage with them again. In addition to NIN, STREET SWEEPER (Tom Morello and Boots Riley) will be joining the tour. Tom is an incredible guitarist and musician who has continually taken artistic chances while inspiring just about everyone within the sound of his work. Sharing the stage with such incredible artists each night will definitely have a profound impact on us. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work alongside such gifted performers."
JANE'S ADDICTION's tour with NINE INCH NAILS will kick off on May 8 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The trek will include their already announced appearances at the Sasquatch! Festival in Washington state on May 24.
JANE'S ADDICTION has played three low-key shows in the Los Angeles area in recent months. The group has reunited for the third time since initially dissolving in 1992, although this is the first time that founding bassist Eric Avery has rejoined the lineup since that original breakup.
JANE'S ADDICTION will release a boxed set called "A Cabinet Of Curiosities" on April 21, offering fans what a press release described as a collection of never-before-heard demos, live performances and rarities, along with unreleased and hard-to-find videos. The three-CD, one-DVD package will feature a total of 30 previously unreleased tracks and will come in a limited edition box resembling a wooden cabinet. A digital version will also be available. Meanwhile, three days earlier, on April 18, the band's first two major label albums, "Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual De Lo Habitual", will be reissued on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl.
The boxed set will retail for $74.98 at stores and Rhino.com, while "Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual De Lo Habitual" will go for $17.98 and $24.98 respectively.
The 43 recordings on "A Cabinet Of Curiosities" are all taken from the first incarnation of the group, spanning from 1986 to 1992.
Disc one will feature five songs from a 1986 recording session in Venice, California, as well as a dozen more 1987 demos of future JANE'S ADDICTION classics like "Three Days", "Ocean Size", "Classic Girl" and "Stop!"
The second disc rounds up more demos, a rehearsal session, a remix of their hit "Been Caught Stealing", various compilation tracks and covers, and some rare live recordings.
Disc three contains a complete live show from December 19, 1990, recorded during the second of a legendary three-night stand at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
The DVD features rare videos never before available on DVD, home movies of the band, and three unreleased live performances taped in Italy.
