November 16, 2009According to BostonHerald.com, AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton joined JOE PERRY PROJECT (led by AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry) on stage Saturday night (November 14) at the the House of Blues in Boston to perform the encore of FLEETWOOD MAC's "Stop Messin' Around" and AEROSMITH's classic "Walk This Way".
"You are seeing this with your own two eyes," said Joe Perry, near the end of the JOE PERRY PROJECT's 90-minute set. "Yes, Tom Hamilton is in the house."

Perry told The Pulse of Radio last week that singer Steven Tyler's surprise appearance onstage during the JOE PERRY PROJECT's Tuesday night (November 10) gig in New York City did not mean that AEROSMITH's problems with Tyler are settled. Perry explained that Tyler and the group are not on the same page about their future. "He's never said he was leaving the band," Perry said. "He just said he wanted two years off to do his other projects. So the rest of the band, you know, we all want to work. I mean, the band's been playing together for 40 years and it's a really powerful rock band, and I don't want to see it just go to waste and I don't think any of the other guys do either. So I don't know what form that's gonna take, but anything's possible."
Tyler joined Perry's band onstage for the AEROSMITH classic "Walk This Way", telling the audience, "I want you to know that I'm not leaving AEROSMITH."
Perry told Billboard.com on Wednesday (November 11) that he was surprised by Tyler's appearance, saying, "I was really blown away that he came to the show. But he showed up and was really anxious to come and sit in and play, so I figured, what the hell?"
It was only last Monday (November 9) that Perry wrote on Twitter that AEROSMITH was "positively looking for a new singer to work with."
Perry told Billboard.com that he has had one conference call with fellow AEROSMITH members Brad Whitford, Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton, but that their next step had not been decided.
Perry declined to discuss Internet rumors about Tyler's health, saying, "That's stuff you need to talk to Steven about."
Perry is touring behind his fifth solo album, "Have Guitar, Will Travel", which came out last month.
Tensions began flaring within AEROSMITH late last summer, after the band was forced to cancel a tour when Tyler was injured in a fall from a stage. It was later revealed that he had stopped communicating with his bandmates and had turned down other concert offers.
