JOEY BELLADONNA's CHIEF BIG WAY To Play Sherrill On Sunday
July 15, 2010Mike Jaquays of The Oneida Daily Dispatch reports that ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna and his Syracuse, New York-based power trio CHIEF BIG WAY will hit the Reilly-Mumford Memorial Park gazebo stage in Sherrill, New York this Sunday (July 18) for a special event celebrating the Little League tournament held in the city that weekend.
"It's all the same to me," Belladonna said of comparing the capacity crowds he saw overseas on the "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, MEGADETH, and SLAYER to the expected smaller attendance in the Silver City. "It's all about the music and I feel good about playing no matter how many people are there."
CHIEF BIG WAY, also featuring lead guitarist Matt Sanderson and bassist Dave Mickelson, started two years ago to give the trio a venue to play the songs they enjoy — offering covers of classic rock tunes by JOURNEY, BAD COMPANY, PINK FLOYD, and LYNYRD SKYNYRD to more contemporary fare by CREED and ALICE IN CHAINS.
"This is all about playing the songs," Belladonna, who will be back on the road with MEGADETH and SLAYER for a tour of Canada starting the following Friday, said. "There's no smoke, no confetti and no frills. It's just fun and entertaining, and we hope the people in Sherrill will have a good time with it."
