JUDAS PRIEST On Verge Of Signing New Major Label Deal
October 31, 2003JUDAS PRIEST are on the verge of signing a new major label deal in the States (rumored to be with Sony) following the group's split with Atlantic Records last year, guitarist Glenn Tipton has confirmed in a brand-new interview. The band's forthcoming CD — which is not expected to arrive before the second half of 2004 — will be the group's first to feature singer Rob Halford since 1990's RIAA gold-certified "Painkiller". JUDAS PRIEST's last two studio albums (neither one of which featured Halford),"Jugulator" (1997) and "Demolition" (2001),received mediocre reviews and disappointing sales — 109,350 and 49,875, respectively, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
