KATATONIA Issues Post-Tour Update
November 23, 2006Sweden's KATATONIA has posted the following message on its official web site:
"We have just returned safely back home to Swedish soil as our first-ever North American tour successfully wrapped up after a month on the road. Rolling through the entire nation from north to south and West to East Coast the tour was far from lacking drama and chaos, but all in all, we hold the tour as a killer ride and especially a great opportunity of sowing the seeds to future touring rounds.
"We wanna thank all our American fans for coming out, it was rewarding meeting all of you as we know you'd waited a long time for this. Your killer reception is what fuels us to come back, and next time the wait won't be as long.
"Before we sign off to go work on our severe jetlag, we also would like to thank our close friends in MOONSPELL, DAYLIGHT DIES and the road crew for the action, work and good times on the road together. A special thanks to Paula Hogan for making all this happen."
Peaceville Records bought rights to the masters of KATATONIA's back catalog previously released on Avantgarde Music and is remasterng and reissuing all the full-length albums in digipack format. First up was "Brave Murder Day" (1996),also featuring the "Sounds of Decay" EP (1997) as a bonus, along with revamped artwork and liner notes from the band. Peaceville has also bought the rights to some of the KATATONIA members' sideprojects, including DIABOLICAL MASQUERADE and OCTOBER TIDE, with reissues to follow in the near future.
KATATONIA's video for the track "Deliberation" has been posted online at YouTube.com. The clip was shot and directed by Charlie Granberg, who also worked with the group on their "My Twin" video.
"Deliberation" is the second single from KATATONIA's new album, "The Great Cold Distance". The follow-up to 2003's "Viva Emptiness" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in the outskirts of Örebro, Sweden and was mastered at the Cutting Room in Stockholm.
