KILL DEVIL HILL Interviewed On 'Headbangers Ball' (Video)

October 10, 2011

Jose Mangin, host/producer MTV.com's web-only show "Headbangers Ball", conducted an interview with KILL DEVIL HILL prior to the band's October 2, 2011 performance at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.

KILL DEVIL HILL is the band featuring Vinny Appice (HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, DIO) on drums, Rex Brown (DOWN, PANTERA) on bass, Mark Zavon (RATT, W.A.S.P., 40 CYCLE HUM) on guitar and Jason "Dewey" Bragg (PISSING RAZORS) on vocals. The group, which recently inked a deal with SPV/Steamhammer, is recording its debut album for a March 2012 release. The as-yet-untitled effort is being produced by Warren Riker, who is best known for his work with DOWN, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, SUBLIME and CATHEDRAL.

Commented Appice: "We are a new band with the power, energy and history to stand out, create music and be successful. We are proud to be with SPV, a label with the same attitude, talent and drive!"

Added Brown: "It is with a great pleasure to be aboard the SPV music blanket. We are looking forward to a great new experience with a label that has put out many great metal records."

Commented Olly Hahn, A&R representative at Steamhammer/SPV: "It's a great pleasure to welcome KILL DEVIL HILL to the SPV family. It's not only because of Rex Brown and Vinny Appice, mostly it's because of their music and that they are a real band. Music-wise, they don't neglect their past but they also give some fresh elements to our beloved music genre called heavy metal!"

KILL DEVIL HILL recently finished demoed around 10 songs, which, according to Appice, sound "like a cross between BLACK SABBATH, ALICE IN CHAINS and a little bit of LED ZEPPELIN thrown in. It's heavy, but with a lot of cool hooks and melodic overtones, too."

The members of KILL DEVIL HILL previously stated about their songwriting and recording approach, "We are going old school meets new; no sample drums here!!"

KILL DEVIL HILL made its live debut on April 29 at the Key Club in Hollywood, California.
