KORN Invade New York With U.S. Troops

Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN held a press conference in New York City yesterday (Monday, November 28) to discuss bringing eight U.S. soldiers on a plane with them from Europe to attend the band's show tonight (Tuesday, November 29) at the city's Hammerstein Ballroom. Singer Jonathan Davis told Launch how the plan came together. "They all just got notice that they were gonna jump on a plane with us," he said. "We came with the idea, let's grab a couple of troops, 'cause they usually go to Germany, where they're stationed, and have leave. So we got in touch with the Army and said we wanted to do this. So I guess people from different stations got picked and they jumped on the plane with us. But it was just something we wanted to do, just to give those guys a break."

The soldiers have all served in either Afghanistan or Iraq and are currently on leave in Frankfurt, Germany and Venice, Italy. The soldiers joined 40 winners of an MTV Europe contest aboard the plane, on which the band also performed during the seven-hour trip.

KORN's new album, "See You on the other Side", arrives on December 6. It is KORN's first album as a four-piece, following the departure of guitarist Brian "Head" Welch earlier this year. The group is also playing a handful of radio festivals and club dates in December to promote the release of the new disc.
