LAMB OF GOD Doing Their Bit For Democracy
October 21, 2004LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler has told Vancouver's Straight.com that he and his bandmates have been paying close attention to the presidential debates of the past few weeks. What they've seen isn't going to change their votes, though, mostly because they've already done their bit for democracy. Adler, singer Randy Blythe, guitarists Willie Adler and Mark Morton, and bassist John Campbell, all filled out absentee ballots before they left their home state of Virginia for their current North American tour. Asked who they supported, the articulate and thoughtful Chris politely takes the Fifth.
"That's an interesting question to ask, and I'm not necessarily going to answer it," said the timekeeper, on the line from a Whistler, Massachusetts tour stop. "I'm only opposed to telling you because recently we've been getting a lot of politically themed questions. I guess that's to be expected, because that's what we write about. But our lyrics don't tell people to vote for George Bush, or John Kerry, or Ralph Nader — we're saying to people, 'Think for yourself.' And I'd rather that people do that when they go to the polls."
