LEASH LAW's MOWERY Comments On RICHARD CHRISTY's Departure From ICED EARTH
May 18, 2004Guitarist/keyboardist Emo Mowery (ex-NOCTURNUS) has issued a statement in response to the news that his LEASH LAW/TIWANAKU bandmate Richard Christy has left ICED EARTH in order to pursue an audition for a permanent job on "The Howard Stern Show". The statement reads as follows:
"First off I would like to say from everyone in the LEASH LAW/TIWANAKU camp a BIG KICK-ASS CONGRATULATIONS to Richard for getting the audition for 'The Howard Stern Show'!!!! This is a dream of his coming true and we are glad he is getting the chance!!! He deserves it!!! How could we not be happy for him!! Way to go CREEEEEEEEECHURD!!!! The information that came from the ICED EARTH camp [in Jon Sachaffer's statement] is semi-false. I don't know who made the statement from the ICED EARTH camp but they obviously must not know Richard very well or are just plain upset because he chose Stern over ICED EARTH. Richard has not given up playing music and I know he will NEVER do that! He loves music just as much as he loves comedy! They go hand in hand with him!! To say that he is quitting music for comedy is just plain ignorant and an easy excuse to get out of a loaded question. Go figure! Richard is still, and will always be, a member of LEASH LAW and TIWANAKU until he says he cannot do it anymore. After talking to him a couple weeks ago I can assure you that he is not planning to leave either of the bands and we are not going to take them away from him either. We are very happy for him!!!!!"
LEASH LAW's debut album, "Dogface", was released in Europe last month through Greece's Black Lotus Records. North American and Asian distribution are currently under negotiation and should follow closely behind.
