LEMMY Talks JEFF HANNEMAN, Tour Plans And Next MOTÖRHEAD Album (Video)
June 26, 2013Artisan News' entire two-and-a-half-minute interview with MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister, conducted on May 2 on the "black carpet" at the Revolver Golden Gods awards at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California, can be seen below.
MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cancel two European concerts earlier this week after Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel). The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.
In a 2012 interview, Lemmy spoke out about plans for MOTÖRHEAD's forthcoming 40th anniversary, which will take place in 2015. He said: "We'll think of something; we always do — probably involving naked women or something."
He added of the band's longevity: "We've been lucky; we've been around so long people realise they can't get us to go away, so they've just decided to join us. You might not like what we do, but we do what we do very well."
MOTÖRHEAD has set "Aftershock" as the title of its new album, tentatively due in September. The follow-up to 2010's "The Wörld Is Yours" was recorded at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California with longtime producer Cameron Webb and will feature 13 songs, including "Dust And Glass", "Knife", "Going To Mexico", "Lost Woman Blues", "Death Machine" and "Heartbreaker".
