LIMP BIZKIT's FRED DURST: 'WES BORLAND Took The Money And Ran'
September 27, 2003LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst recently spoke to Radio 1 about the departure of guitarist Wes Borland. "I don't know what we are [but] I know we're a band that's gonna prove to you very soon that Wes Borland didn't keep the ship afloat," he said. "Anything like that, when you think you have a family member that's loyal and their love is unconditional and trust is unconditional… For a guy to leave without looking anyone in the face or telling anybody… When you are a family, and you really do think the guy is your brother, it just hits you, and you're just like, 'What the fuck man?!' 'Wow! You piece of shit!' Regardless… Maybe you didn't like hanging out with the band, and you say you hate rap music, and you hate this and hate that, but we liked you for that. We thought, 'Wow, that's just Wes.' We just accept him, and then one day he jumps up and bails and makes sure he gets his final check. He got paid for this new album before he even quit. Right after that, he started saying he was bailing. He took the money and ran." Listen to the interview here (Real Audio).
