LINKIN PARK Launches Fourth 'Projekt Revolution'
July 25, 2007Launch Radio Networks reports: LINKIN PARK kicks off its fourth Projekt Revolution tour on Wednesday (July 25) in Seattle, headlining a line-up that includes MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, H.I.M., PLACEBO, SAOSIN and others. LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington told Launch that the band always had high ambitions for the tour, even if it was tough to get acts to sign up in the early days. "Projekt Revolution, we've always wanted to grow it over the years and, you know, in the beginning it was difficult because we were a fresh band, you know, we hadn't earned the respect of our peers, so to speak, so it was a little more difficult to get bands to tour with us. But this Projekt Revolution was surprisingly easy to put together. The idea was that we wanted to basically put the best touring festival of the summer together and make it a no-brainer. And I think that we've accomplished that."
The tour will last for most of the summer's second half, wrapping up on September 3 in Denver.
Projekt Revolution is an environmentally conscious "green" event, with one dollar from each ticket being donated to American Forests for their Global ReLeaf program to plant trees to help reduce global temperatures.
LINKIN PARK is supporting its recently released new album, "Minutes to Midnight", while the other acts on the bill are promoting either current or upcoming projects.
