LOSTPROPHETS Singer: Working With METALLICA Producer Was 'Pain In The Ass'
May 18, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: LOSTPROPHETS recorded their upcoming third CD, "Liberation Transmission", with producer Bob Rock, best known for his work with MÖTLEY CRÜE and METALLICA as well as his major role in the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster". Even though LOSTPROPHETS recorded part of the album at Rock's studio on Maui, singer Ian Watkins told Launch that working with the legendary producer was no vacation. "It was arduous," he said. "It was a pain in the ass, because he is Bob Rock and he doesn't have to do it, you know, and it's his name he's putting to it, you know. And he still has a hunger to do stuff, but he's also very picky and he's also, you know, he has no need to take any crap."
"Liberation Transmission" arrives in stores on June 27. The album's first single, "Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)", was the most added song at rock radio stations last week.
"Liberation Transmission" follows up the band's 2004 sophomore effort, "Start Something", which was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies.
LOSTPROPHETS recently recruited Ilan Rubin to replace original drummer Mike Chiplin.
The Welsh group will tour the U.K. in July but has yet to announce North American plans.
