MÖTLEY CRÜE: Audio Interview With TOMMY LEE Available
July 9, 2008A 12-minute audio interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee conducted late last month by "The BJ Shea Morning Experience" on the Seattle station KISW 99.9 FM has been posted online at this location.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's new album, "Saints of Los Angeles", sold 99,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD is MÖTLEY CRÜE's first studio album since 2000's "New Tattoo", which has sold a little over 200,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The band's last studio effort with all of its original members was 1997's "Generation Swine", which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, and has sold more than 300,000 units.
According to Billboard, the 99,000 bow of "Saints" represents the biggest sales week for MÖTLEY CRÜE since Christmas week of 1991, when its hits package "Decade of Decadence" sold 121,000.
"Saints of Los Angeles" is loosely based on the band's memoir, "The Dirt", which was published in 2001.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Crüe Fest" kicked off on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida, hitting 40 cities before wrapping up in late August.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's most recent tour in 2005/2006 grossed $46.3 million and drew more than 960,000 people to 125 concerts, according to Billboard Boxscore.
