MARILYN MANSON Reveals Reasoning Behind New Album Title
February 20, 2003MARILYN MANSON recently told Launch the reasoning behind the title of the group's upcoming album, "The Golden Age Of Grotesque". "The album is called 'The Golden Age Of The Grotesque' for a reason, because this is an age, an era, that I'm trying to bring about," he said. "Take people's minds off the horribleness of what's going on in the world. Let their imagination run wild. And art, I don't want it to be some painful thing that kids dread going to a museum on a field trip and they'd rather be at recess. My art is recess."
"The Golden Age Of Grotesque" is due on May 13 through Nothing/Interscope Records. The album's first single, "mOBSCENE", will hit radio approximately one month before the album arrives in stores.
MARILYN MANSON has been confirmed for the main stage of Ozzfest along with headliner OZZY OSBOURNE, KORN, DISTURBED, and CHEVELLE. The traveling festival will start June 28 in San Antonio, Texas.
