MARIONETTE: New Songs Posted Online

February 15, 2008

Gothenburg, Sweden-based metal sextet MARIONETTE has posted the songs "In Spite" and "Parasite", taken from the group's debut album, "Spite", on the band's MySpace page. Bassist Mikael Mendin says, "These two songs give people a pretty good taste of what they can expect on the album. But, of course, there are plenty more surprises on the [full-length CD]."

Due in late April via Listenable Records, "Spite" was recorded with producers Simon Exner and two-time Swedish Grammis award winner Åke Parmerud in Borås, Sweden. "Spite" was mixed and mastered by Christian Silver at Studio Mega (SONIC SYNDICATE, BY NIGHT) in Varberg, Sweden.

MARIONETTE made its 2008 live debut opening for Japanese rock band GIRUGAMESH in Stockholm on January 31. The group's final gig of 2007 was a support slot with BY NIGHT at the legendary Gothenburg rock club Sticky Fingers.

MARIONETTE's "Terror Hearts" EP was recorded in late 2006 with Henryk Lipp (BURST) and Christian Silver (SONIC SYNDICATE, BY NIGHT). It was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (IN FLAMES, AT THE GATES, DARK TRANQUILLITY) in December 2006. The demo since has gained praise from underground and mainstream media alike in Sweden.

MARIONETTE is:

Axel Widén - Vocals
Aron Parmerud - Guitar
Johan Sporre - Guitar and Backing Vocals
Mikael Mendin - Bass
