MESHUGGAH: New Video Interview Posted Online

September 25, 2008

Asif Salam of Soundshock.net conducted an interview with guitarist Mårten Hagström of the Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH on September 5, 2008 in London, England. Watch the chat below.

Six months after its debut at No. 59 on The Billboard 200 chart, MESHUGGAH has cracked the 50,000 sales mark in the United States with its latest album, "obZen".

"obZen" sold 11,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. This is substantially more than the 7,000 first-week total achieved by its predecessor, "Catch 33", which landed at No. 170 on The Billboard 200 chart back in June 2005.

An e-card for "obZen" can be accessed at this location.

MESHUGGAH's Tomas Haake was named the #1 drummer in the "Metal" category in Modern Drummer magazine's 2008 Readers' Poll. The Readers' Poll results were published in the July 2008 issue of the magazine.

MESHUGGAH took part in the U.S. leg of MINISTRY's final world tour — C U LaTouR — which kicked off March 25 in Spokane, Washington and concluded on May 11 in Chicago, Illinois. The trek also featured opening act HEMLOCK.
