METAL CHURCH Frontman RONNY MUNROE To Co-Write CLIVEAID Anthem

METAL CHURCH frontman Ronny Munroe has issued the following update:

"I wanted to take some time to tell you about a charity that I am involved with and that charity is Cliveaid. Cliveaid was formed in 2004 initially to help original drummer of IRON MAIDEN, Clive Burr, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. Since 2004 Cliveaid and its founder Sam Hill, along with his team, have raised a lot of money and awareness for MS and cancer organizations.

"I am very pleased that Sam has asked me to co-write the Cliveaid anthem which you will be hearing soon. I am also very pleased to be part of some upcoming Cliveaid benefit shows in the UK in the coming months.

Burr is suffering from multiple sclerosis a disease of unknown cause. The disorder is causing him intermittent numbness and can affect his balance. At present there is no known cure for MS, although he is helping test new drugs in the hope that his body response may contribute to a cure.

Clive joined IRON MAIDEN at the very end of December 1979 and played on the first three albums "Iron Maiden", "Killers" and "Number of the Beast" and toured extensively with the band over this groundbreaking period before leaving in early 1983.

METAL CHURCH's last CD, "A Light in the Dark", was released in June 2006 via SPV. The LP includes a new version of the classic "Watch the Children Pray" as a tribute to vocalist David Wayne, who passed away in May 2005.
