METALLICA Among ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Nominees

According to The Plain Dealer, METALLICA, hip-hop group RUN-D.M.C. and R&B veteran BOBBY WOMACK are officially among the artists in the running for a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whose 2009 induction ceremony will be held Saturday, April 4, at Public Hall. Other first-time nominees on the latest Rock Hall ballot include LITTLE ANTHONY and the IMPERIALS AND WAR. JEFF BECK, previously inducted with THE YARDBIRDS, has been nominated for his solo work. Back on the ballot after coming up short on votes in years past are CHIC, WANDA JACKSON and THE STOOGES.
