METALLICA Drummer Confirms January Release For 'Monster' DVD

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has confirmed the January 2005 arrival of the DVD version of the group's acclaimed documentary, "Some Kind of Monster". "January 2005 is when the DVD is coming out, with the obligatory, you know, 47 extra hours of crap that nobody cares about or should see," Ulrich told Launch Radio Networks. "But it's gonna be fun. There's gonna be a lot of additional stuff in there, of course. I think people are gonna dig the DVD because there really is so much more, obviously, and I think people are gonna be psyched about it."

One of the film's directors, Joe Berlinger, said earlier this year that "Some Kind of Monster" would most likely come in two editions: the initial double-disc set featuring the movie and plenty of bonus material, plus a four-disc package that could include as much as four-and-a-half hours of edited footage that didn't make the film.
