METALLICA's 'Videos' Beats SLIPKNOT's 'Voliminal' On Music Video Chart
December 15, 2006METALLICA's first-ever collection of all its music videos, called "The Videos 1989-2004", sold more than 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 3 on Billboard's Top Music Video chart. The DVD contains all 21 of the band's videos, from 1989's "One" to 2003's "Some Kind of Monster", along with a few bonus features. The DVD also features alternate versions of the "One" and "The Unforgiven" clips, as well as the trailer for the band's 2005 documentary, "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster".
In other news, SLIPKNOT's "Voliminal: Inside the Nine" DVD shifted more than 24,000 units in the United States in the first seven days following its release to land at No. 5 on Billboard's Top Music Video chart. The disc, which has already been certified platinum in Canada for sales in excess of 10,000 copies, was directed by SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan and shot while the band was recording and touring behind its third album, "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)".
