MINISTRY Set Release Date For 'Houses of the Molé'
April 6, 2004Industrial-metal pioneers MINISTRY have set a June 22 release date through Sanctuary Records for their new album, "Houses of the Molé".
The follow-up to 2003's "Animositisomina" was previously described by MINISTRY frontman Al Jourgensen as "all MINISTRY, all the time, with a dash of sinister Southwest flavor and half the carbs."
In a recent interview with Side-Line.com, Jourgensen was asked about the group's split with longtime bassist/collaborator Paul Barker and the impact his departure has had on the band's sound.
Regarding why it was kept silent for so long that Paul was to leave the band, Al said, "Because it's not really my place to say anything, that was up to Paul to decide. I didn't fire him. He just left. I'm moving forward, as I'm sure he is as well." On how it was working without Paul and with a new member (John Monte, formerly of M.O.D., MINDFUNK, DRAGPIPE) aboard, Jourgensen said, "Different, but very stimulating, as you will see on this release. Monte has very much risen to the occasion, and he's great to work with. Asked if Paul's departure influenced how Al worked on the new album, Jourgensen said, " The good thing is, Mike Scaccia (guitars) and I work incredibly well together, and all the new musicians really believe in the new material, and Sanctuary is very much behind this project. It's been a bit more work, but a lot more satisfying for me."
