MOONSPELL's 'The Antidote' Inspires Portuguese Novel
July 10, 2003Portugal's MOONSPELL will be collaborating with José Luis Peixoto, one of the most promising young fictionists from Europe and the most important writer of the Portuguese new generations, on a book based on the group's forthcoming album, "The Antidote".
Having published already two novels — 2000's "Not Even A Gaze" (winner of the most prestigious award in Portuguese Literature, the Saramago award) and 2002's "A House In The Darkness" — as well as two poetry books, Peixoto will publish a "small tales" novel called "The Antidote", influenced by the music, lyrics and spirit of the 10 songs contained on the record. The book, which will be published in Portugal by Temas & Debates, will also be available in a very limited edition, consisting of a "digibook", featuring the book in its original language (Portuguese) and the MOONSPELL CD. An English translation of this work, by Richard Zenith, will be available worldwide as a bonus multimedia track on "The Antidote" album.
MOONSPELL's "The Antidote" is due on September 29 through Century Media Records.
