MÖTLEY CRÜE's VINCE NEIL Makes List Of California Water Wasters
December 11, 2015According to NBC Bay Area, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was among the notable people whose names were included on a new list of East Bay, California residents penalized for violating the Excessive Water Use Ordinance, which imposes fines on suspected water wasters as a reaction to the state's drought.
Records show that Neil consumed more than 2,200 gallons daily at his home in Danville, which is said to be one of California's top 25 wealthiest cities, and one of the wealthiest suburbs of Oakland and San Francisco.
Neil's name popped up on a list of 1,802 customers of the East Bay Municipal Utility District who, during their most recent 60-day billing cycle, used more than a cap of roughly 1,000 gallons of water per day. The average household uses between 300 and 400 gallons daily.
Neil faces a fine of $2 for every unit of water he used over the 60-day billing period that exceeded the utility district's cap.
In a 2008 interview with Diablo Magazine, Vince was asked what his Danville neighbors said when they found out the lead singer from MÖTLEY CRÜE was moving in next door. He responded: "Our next-door neighbors are great friends. The kids in the area like me because I cruise around in a flamin' '57 Chevy golf cart."
Asked if he got spotted around town, Vince said: "People who don't know I live out here look at me and say, 'Damn, that looks just like Vince Neil.' I was buying lightbulbs at the hardware store yesterday, and a guy said, 'What are you doing here?' I said, 'I live here, dude.'"
