NADJA's 'Skin Turns To Glass' Reissue Due In April

January 25, 2008

The End Records has set an April 1 North American release date for the reissue of "Skin Turns to Glass" from Canadian experimental/noise duo NADJA.

The band — Aidan Baker (guitars, vocals, woodwinds, drum machines) and Leah Buckareff (bass, vocals) — entered Baker's home studio this January to re-record (and re-arrange as needed) the album, originally released in a limited edition CD-R run on Belgium's Nothingness Records.

About the re-recording, Baker says, "We tried for a bit of a rawer, rougher production so that tracks have a bit more of a live, unpolished feel. There is still lots of layering, as on our other records, but the sound is not quite as soft and fuzzy as some of our other releases. We maxed out the CD again with an ambient bonus track that will probably try people's patience...but the ending of that track might be a bit of a surprise..."

You can hear an excerpt of the song "Sandskin" at The End Records' official MySpace page.
