NASUM's ANDERS JAKOBSON: VADER's DOC Was A 'Kick-Ass Drummer'

August 21, 2005

NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"I just learned that ex-VADER drummer Doc passed away at age 35. Now, I wasn't really a huge VADER fan — I mean I liked their music but I didn't listen to them much. But I can safely say that Doc was a kick-ass drummer and it saddens me that he died so young.

"No details why and how he died but as most of you know he left the band due to drinking problems so I guess the death is drug related in some way.

"At least Mieszko [Talarczyk, NASUM guitarist/vocalist, victim of the Southeast Asian tsunami] now got a killer drummer to start grinding in heaven with! I imagine they would create some killer stuff up there!

"I also have to say that I was this close to another personal tragedy the other day as my friends in THE ACCIDENTS (staring ex-NASUM drummer Rickard and ex-NECRONY guitarist Dan Wall, among others) slid of the autobahn and got into a ditch mangling some trees on the way. There were eight people in the van and at least five of them are my friends and apart for some cuts and bruises and a broken (?) muscle they are all well. The police apparently reported that if they had crashed into a bigger tree some of them would most likely have died.

"I don't want more funerals this year and I am so glad that THE ACCIDENTS survived their accident (their band name gets a new meaning now for sure) and are back in Örebro already."
